About Jim Hendrix
Playing violin piqued Jim’s interest early on at the age of six.. By fifth grade, he began to play trumpet and continued to play it throughout the remainder of his public-school days. In his junior year of high school, Jim began singing in high school choirs. During his senior year of high school, Jim casually picked up the bass guitar, not realizing that instrument would eventually become the foundation of his musical career. It was in high school that Jim started to find his voice (both literally and figuratively). Upon receiving a music scholarship, Jim made his way to study at Winthrop University.
After receiving a BA in Music and a BS in Communication Disorders from Winthrop University, Hendrix headed to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career as a professional musician. After quickly settling into a new city in 2006, his professional journey in music soon began.
In late 2017, Jim happened upon his first voice-over opportunity. From this point, he began to hone his skills as both a voice over artist and sound designer. In 2020, when the Covid 19 pandemic brought anxiety and uncertainty to our world, what was certain for Jim was how much he loved being home with his family. It was during this time that he decided to retire from touring and concentrate on being home with his family. Subsequently, Hendrix Audio Productions was born from the desire to use his uniquely deep voice as well as his love for being creative in a recording studio. contact me
